The new Sony VAIO Z ultra-portable laptop features an aluminum and carbon fiber chassis and boasts a 13.1-inch (1600 x 900 or 1920 x 1080) screen, a 2.7 GHz Core i7-2620M processor, 4/6/8GB of RAM, up to a 256GB solid state drive, Intel HD 3000 graphics, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, optional 3G, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, a fingerprint reader, USB 3.0 and HDMI ports, Intel Wireless Display 2.0 support, and a battery enabling up to 8 hours of operation. If you want even more autonomy then there's a sheet battery that can be purchased separately and boosts overall battery life to 16 hours.



Another extra is the Power Media Dock (a docking station) which packs a Radeon HD 6650M graphics card with 1GB VRAM, a slot loading optical drive, three USB ports (1 x 3.0 and 2 x 2.0), plus HDMI and VGA ports.

Sony Handycam HDR-PJ50V, HDR-PJ30V & HDR-PJ10 Camcorders with Projector 0 komentar

Sony again has a new product that is a camcorder with a projector. Sony HDR-PJ50V have a projector built-in right in the back of his 3-inch screen located next to the camcorder. Projectors that there are promising can project images equivalent to size 60 inch TV, just not explained how the level of brightness which is owned by the built-in projector.

As the camcorder itself, the HDR-PJ50V can record video with a format Full HD (1080p) and in it using a 220 GB hard drive is enough to record hours of video in it. For the lens itself, Sony is still relying on “Exmor-R” CMOS with the optical zoom reaches 12x and 17x Zoom Extended.

Sony HDR-PJ50V will be sold in this March for $998 but there is also a cheaper version of Sony HDR-PJ30V a price of $948 but uses flash memory to 32GB. Or there is the least expensive of Sony HDR-PJ10 at a price of $698 with a smaller flash memory is 16 GB.

Now there’s even a media player that gets its juice from the sun. Ah, the benefits of alternative, cleaner reusable sources of energy. Personally, I have to wonder if some eco-friendly organization had a hand in developing or producing this device known as the Eclipse from Sony. Anyway, its primary use of solar power is made possible by photovoltaic cells located on its other side. The cells is designed to draw in sunlight for energy whenever you place it on a window with the help of a suction cup.

Furthermore, this media player will also include Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to stream audio content from a MP3 player or receive weather updates, podcasts and radio transmissions. However, it is important to note that this Sony media player is a conceptual device so I have to wonder how close this “Eclipse” is to actual completion in its development as a functioning product. Thus, the wait is on to see if or when it gets released in the near or distant future. Alas, plenty of cool ideas out there never make it past the concept and design table.

Just in time for its sister company’s release of Casino Royale, Sony Ericsson has introduced a new gadget even James Bond would be proud of - the MBW-100 Bluetooth Watch.

This beautifully designed timepiece ushers in a whole new chapter in Bluetooth accessories by providing the most discreet way to date to manage your cell phone. Imagine you are in a meeting with M and the Minister of Defence [sic] and Felix Leiter calls on your mobile to chat. With your phone pocketed away and in silent mode, reaching to answer it would be noticeably disruptive to your meeting. Instead, your timepiece discreetly vibrates to alert you to an incoming call. With only a slight turn of you wrist, your watch displays your caller’s number (or name if the number is stored in your phonebook). A discreet press of the crown and Felix is sent to voicemail for a later callback.

Other features of the MBW-100 include incoming text message notification and play/pause control of music functions. It will also alert you if you have traveled out of range of your cell phone, which is handy if you are the type to forget your phone somewhere.

The watch itself is a beauty. Designed in conjunction with watch giant Fossil, it’s got a sleek steel case with a polished/brushed bracelet and features a scratch-resistant mineral glass crystal. Sony's new VRD-MC6 DVDirect is a new gadget and it looks and acts an awful lot like the previous VRD-MC10 and VRD-MC5. It can take 1080i video with 5.1 audio off your Handy cam’s drive or Memory Stick and shoot out an AVCHD DVD that plays back on compatible Blu-ray drives like the PS3. It can also transfer standard-definition home videos to DVD discs without the need of a computer from virtually any camcorder, VCR or digital video recorder. The new model includes Digital Video (i.LINK/FireWire/IEEE-1394), Composite Video inputs, and USB (for Sony hard drive, DVD and Memory Stick media-based Handycam camcorders). DVD video discs recorded in this manner are playable in most consumer DVD players.

In addition, the VRD-MC6 can directly record digital photos to a DVD as a slideshow or just for photo storage from any of the four popular digital camera memory cards.
