LG 42PJ350 Plasma Television Review–Surprisingly Good Value 0 komentar

Today we’ve got a plasma from LG, and this one’s going to go a good long way in terms of value for you, which is definitely a consideration you want to make, especially given that you want some cash left over for your chips and dip budget going into the Super Bowl. It’s the LG 42PJ350, and it’s actually pretty good.

The LG 42PJ350 is a forty two inch 720p plasma television that offers three different AV modes to give you different settings depending on what you’re doing with the television at the time, Picture Wizard to give you an easier time setting the various levels of your picture, dual XD engines for video processing, 24p Real Cinema display, Clear Voice II and Infinite SOund for better audio, as well as Dolby Digital decoders, two ten watt speakers, three HDMI ports, two component inputs, two composite inputs, an RF input, a PC input, a USB port and a digital optical audio output.

There’s plenty to like here–decent picture (it’s just 720p, after all), nice sound (ten watt speakers, but with some augmentation), and of course, about as much room for old components as new ones. It’s not the best, naturally. There are a lot of things putting this down, though, but for an entry level plasma television,it should be most of what you’ll need.

And it actually gets better when you find you can get one of these for $467.77 out at Amazon, which is a terrific price.

So if you’re looking for a new plasma television, well, you’ll certainly want a look at the LG 42PJ350, a plasma television that will deliver plenty of value in a good package.

We already covered what Sennheiser was up to yesterday with PX 360 and PX 360 BT Headphones, and today will be the CXC 700 ear-canal phones.

This pair of earphones support active noise cancellation with three profiles made for travelers. It is able to adapt to its surrounding environment with a push of a button.

Mode 1 is good for absorbing low-frequency noise in particular (100 to 400 Hertz) which is good for blocking the noise from planes, buses and trains. Mode 2 cancels medium frequency range is derived from air-conditioning systems in large passenger aircraft and office buildings. Mode 3 is the wide-frequency range that mixes the low and the medium.

The CXC 700 will be out sometime this month, but I don’t really have any word on a price.

Samsung PN50C430 Plasma Television Review 1 komentar

Another fine plasma television entry, ahead of the Super Bowl, comes our way today in the form of the Samsung PN50C430, a big, if not all that great, plasma television. It will prove a strange juxtaposition of concepts, but the strangeness will not distract from the overall quality of the system.

The Samsung PN50C30 is a fifty inch 720p plasma television that offers a Wide Color Enhancer mode, ConnectShare Movie to get content off cameras to display directly onto the television, a game mode to reduce blurring in high-speed situations, Anynet Plus systems, two ten watt speakers augmented by SRS TruSurround HD, two HDMI ports, a USB port, a component video input, a composite video input, two audio inputs, a headphone jack, and a digital audio output.

You can see right off that there’s not a lot to this one, especially not in the way of features. And it does show through in the picture, which isn’t all that great. It’s only 720p, after all, which is still pretty good but not as great as many you’ll see. The sound is a bit better, though; ten watt speakers are hardly special but augmented by the SRS TruSurround HD system certainly gives them a note of backup. There’s not much room here for extra components, though, which is a downright shame. Sure, it plays equally well with old and new components, but it doesn’t play particularly well with either old or new hardware.

But considering that Amazon wants $604.99 for one of these, you can forgive a whole lot of issues with this. You can forgive a whole lot of anything for that kind of price tag, and if your home theater is a bit on the minimalist side (or has a good receiver to back it), then you should be able to do all right with a huge picture and not many components.

The Samsung PN50C430 isn’t the best television you’ll find out there, but it’s certainly one of the best values out there, and if you go this route, you’ll want to keep your home theater relatively simple, but you should get along pretty well.

Today’s plasma television comes to us from the folks out at Panasonic, who have put together a pretty impressive model with their Panasonic TC-P50U2.

The Panasonic TC-P50U2 is a fifty inch 1080p plasma television that offers a 600Hz Sub-field drive system, Viera Link to let you control all your various devices from one remote, a game mode to reduce blurring in high speed video situations (like those commonly found in gaming), the Viera Image Viewer system, two ten watt speakers with surround sound capability, three HDMI ports, two component inputs, two composite inputs, and one digital audio input.

This one has a surprisingly nice picture; sure, it’s 1080p, but we’ve seen some 1080p pictures that don’t exactly look like they qualify. This one does. And the sound is pretty nice too, though again, not as good as some. It’s got some augmentation on its ten watt speakers, and that never hurts. Plus, it actually plays a little better with older hardware than newer, thanks to a slightly unusual ratio of HDMI to component / composite slots.

And considering that Amazon wants $881.35 for one of these, which is not half bad at all, really, you’ll end up with a pretty solid value for a fairly decent price.

The Panasonic TC-P50U2, though it won’t be the best television you’ve seen lately, will still be a good quality addition to your home theater system.

Sony again has a new product that is a camcorder with a projector. Sony HDR-PJ50V have a projector built-in right in the back of his 3-inch screen located next to the camcorder. Projectors that there are promising can project images equivalent to size 60 inch TV, just not explained how the level of brightness which is owned by the built-in projector.
